Interfaith Engagement

October Mondays in the Classics in Religion series. This group is open to all and meets Mondays at 11 a.m. at the Penn Yan Public Library. Note: October 8 is a holiday; the library will be closed.

Using material produced by the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), Chaplain Detar will give participants the opportunity to explore what interfaith is and participate in interfaith engagement.

Facilitator: Eric Detar, Chaplain at Keuka College

Eric Detar began his position as chaplain in August of 2009. For the past 2 years, he has led an intentional interfaith exploration on the College’s campus, by partnering along with the IFYC to explore with campus stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, administration, and trustees, to see how spirituality can become more cultural again on the College campus. Eric is an ordained elder (1999) within the United Methodist Church and is appointed to serve at Keuka College from his bishop of the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Paula, have lived in the Penn Yan area since 2009 and have two children, Anna (sophomore, Roberts Wesleyan College) and Noah (senior, Penn Yan Academy).
