Presentation in the Classics in Religion series. This group is open to all and meets Mondays from 11 a.m. to noon at the Penn Yan Public Library, 214 Main St, Penn Yan.
For the next two weeks, Classics in Religion will focus on the book How to Meditate Using Chakras, Mantras, and Breath. In this book, author Dennis Chernin, M.D., M.P., offers beginning and more experienced students a concise and thorough analysis of the practice of meditation. The physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits of meditation are outlined in a clear manner.
Facilitator: Peter Gamba is a retired engineer and has been a social justice advocate, and a member of the Unitarian Universalist community. He has attended programs on the yoga tradition at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA, and in India that focus on yoga and meditation. He lives in Branchport, NY.
