A Final Classics: Growing Old Gracefully

Classics in Religion series: Please join us: This group is open to all and currently meets Mondays from 11 a.m. to noon via Zoom.

To wrap up our Classics season, this final session will be led by Mary Beth Gamba, who initiated this program for Cobblestone Springs and has carried it forward for six years. We deeply appreciate her commitment and service! Thank you, Mary Beth.

We also thank the Penn Yan Public Library for its support of Classics, and librarian Alex Andrasik for assisting with our Zoom sessions this spring. We hope to continue these programs in the fall.

The Gift of Years—Growing Old Gracefully
May 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. via Zoom

Mary Beth Gamba chose Joan Chittister’s book The Gift of Years—Growing Old Gracefully as a fitting end to six years of Classics in Religion at the Penn Yan Library.

According to Michael Lerner, editor of Tikkun magazine, “The Gift of Years is an amazing compendium of wisdom not only for people facing aging or providing support, but for everyone who wants to live a spiritually centered and balanced life. Joan Chittister is a jewel whose work as a spiritual progressive addresses people of every faith and none with a depth and brilliance that startles and delights.”

We hope you can join us! Here is the Zoom link for this session:
