Saying Yes More than No to God’s People
with Sandi Perl

Many years ago I listened to a workshop presenter who said “We miss so many opportunities, God driven and inspired, because we go right to no.” He then went on to explain the reasons for no and the reasons for yes. Over the years I have used this outline to listen and pray about ideas, projects, interactions with people, and “crazy ideas” when developing ministry and community programs. Let’s talk about why we say no (sometimes I didn’t even know why “No” came out of my mouth), when we should say no, and the risks involved in saying “YES”. There is a strategy to saying yes more than no. Let’s talk! This can be a one time or ongoing if people want to take a risk in saying yes and then come back and talk about it.

Presenter: Sandi Perl is a United Methodist Pastor and currently serving Bluff Point United Methodist Church. She is also the Executive Director of The Living Well Mission located in Penn Yan, NY, and a member of the Cobblestone Springs Board of Directors.
