During their residency in September Paul W. Jacob (Jake) and his wife Jess will be providing retreats and other services for the Cobblestone community and the public. His website is

Jake is a writer, teacher, contemplative guide, and mystic. He leads spiritual/contemplative retreats at centers throughout North America and facilitates various ongoing spiritual formation groups for serious seekers. Jake has also worked as a professor for various colleges teaching courses on World Religions, Creative Writing, Journalism and Spiritual Literature. He has had several books published by presses in the United States and Canada, including Blue Collar Nomad, Nomadic Devotion and Falling onto the Ground.

Jake and his wife, Jessica, co-founded and run “Feed The Way,” a charitable organization that walks the streets of urban areas providing food, daily necessities, and pastoral care to our homeless brothers and sisters.

1. Balancing Solitude and Community: A Day with Henri Nouwen
Wednesday September 7th, $50 (Lunch is included)

2. Living into our Essential Being:  The Transformational Teachings of Karlfried Graf Dürckheim 
Thursday September 15 to Friday September 16th, $95 (Lunches are included)

3. The Path of Love and Selfless Service: Vital Teachings from The Bhagavad Gita, Sufism, and The Gospels
Wednesday September 21st, $50 (Lunch is included)

4. Fall Harvest Dinner (Fundraiser for “Feed The Way”)
Saturday September 24th 6 P.M., $50 per person

Lastly, throughout the month, Jake will offer:
Soul Tending Sessions and Power of Place Readings 
Tuesday, Sept 6; Friday Sept 9; Tuesday Sept 13; Tuesday Sept 27; Wednesday Sept 28

These are private one-on-one sessions, $50 each by appointment (sign up in advance). Proceeds go towards “Feed The Way,” a charitable organization founded and run by Jake and Jess that ministers to homeless brothers and sisters on the streets of urban areas.
