Fall Harvest Dinner (Fundraiser for “Feed The Way”)
Saturday September 24th 6 P.M.; $35-50 per person sliding scale
Presented by Chef Paul W. Jacob (Jake) and his Sous Chef Jess
This will be a four course Fall Harvest Dinner with all of the ingredients sourced from local farms and producers. It will also feature wine pairings with each course. Jake has been a chef at Hollyhock Retreat Center (Canada), La Serrania (Spain), Golden Lion Holistic Feasts (San Francisco) and at the Ashland Creek Inn (Oregon). The dinner will be followed by a brief presentation about the work of “Feed The Way” and a reading from Jake’s memoir-in-progress “There are No Homeless People in God: The Story of Feed The Way in Seattle during the Covid Pandemic.”
“Feed The Way” is a charitable organization founded and run by Jake and Jess that made and distributed over five thousand hearty sandwiches to our homeless brothers and sisters living rough on the streets of Seattle during the Covid pandemic. “Feed The Way” also shopped for, packed and distributed over 10,000 Care Bags with daily necessities, foodstuffs, water/juice, and basic medical supplies. In addition, we distributed warm hats, gloves, and socks. Finally, Jake provided pastoral care and spiritual formation right out on the apocalyptic streets for anyone who requested it.
*Any profits from this event will go towards “Feed The Way” and its mission of feeding and attending to our homeless brothers and sisters out on the streets of urban areas.
